I'm editing my original review below and upping Strand Storage's rating to 4 stars for quickly contacting me and rectifying the issue by refunding the errant late charge. The problem was not really the fault of Strand Storage but with U-Haul in MD and the U-Haul app in general. When I made the reservation with U-Haul, I had 4 days allowed with the truck and a due date of Feb. 2. This was written in both the contract and in the U-Haul app. On the day before pick up, U-Haul in Maryland changed both my truck pick up location to a very inconvenient location 20 miles away and my drop off location to Strand Storage. The app and the contract both continued to show a due date of Feb. 2, but in a different section of the contract (unnoticed by me) they dropped the allowed days to 3...a very messed up contract. I was happy that Strand realized this mistake and made things right.

Original Review: Per my pre-paid contract, I returned the 20 foot U-Haul truck used for a move from MD to Myrtle Beach to the South Strand Storage Center. The truck was returned a day early, completely clean, proper level of gas and with all the leased moving blankets. The person who met me checked to make sure all was good and said he would email a receipt and then drove the truck around the back of the storage units. I left with my wife who was waiting. Two days later an additional charge shows up on my credit card. I contacted the main U-Haul phone number. The U-Haul phone agent said South Strand shows the truck as being checked in a day late. The truck was returned a day early!!! The charge is being disputed with U-Haul and will be also be disputed with my credit card. I would avoid using this place.

Specifically to the UHaul part. Long pita story, but to make it short, we booked a small truck to bring items back to NY. They told us the gas was at a mark and it was a libe under where they say. I pointed this out and was told it would be corrected it never was. They didn't have all the items like we booked, i.e., shipping blankets. When we called about this at the end of the trip because nothing was corrected, the lady who answered kept saying they wouldn't do that. We'll they did. Cost me a bit of money, but maybe you will go to the next dealer. There are so many around this same area.

Rented from these guys a few years back. I got a great price on my unit. Steve was awesome. Very nice guy and very thorough on everything. Rented my uhaul from here when it was time for me to move my stuff out. Again he was amazing with the expierence. Highly recommend for everything

Brittney and Richard are awesome!! They were so helpful and friendly as I rented my first truck to move into my new home. The man that took us to drop off the U-Haul at this place is very compassionate, we didn't get his name and I didn't get out of the SUV, but Rodney was telling him how the window got busted being parked at the windsufer hotel and he gave him good advice and took money off his charge and he didn't have to do that. So that's hope they are still good ppl left. Thank you sir
