Vancouver School
District is by far the worst school
District I have ever dealt with. My daughter is now missing the spring semester of school at her new online academy all because they didn’t get the choice transfer form submitted to her new school in time. After numerous phone calls, every single one of them unanswered, leaving time sensitive messages for the district choice transfer lead Nina, I got no response back and now my student has to miss the last 3.5 months of school. Having had to pull her from Fort Vancouver because of how awful and unsupportive they are, it is clear to me this school district could care less about their kids and now the students have to suffer.

Vancouver School District hands down needs to take more serious reform. My opinion the whole state of Washington needs reformed!!! I was sent a video of a all out brawl in front of the middle school of Graiser Middle School yesterday. Apparently this is a daily event. Wish I could share this video this site won't allow videos

Skyview Highschool refused to accommodate my daughter who has had a reoccurring case of not being able to walk, making it a very stressful and frightening time for us. So instead of giving her leave from PE they failed her, they refused her use of the elevator and basically told us they do not care about any of it, and will require doctors notes, which we gave them from her pediatrician, her specialist and a physical therapist, all of which said this is an ongoing issue and needs to be treated as a serious illness until a full diagnosis is available. We were given a treatment plan for when the issue flared up and it involved her staying home and compressing her legs etc. We asked for assignments to be emailed or some kind of remote learning so she can stay caught up, and they told us flat out, we are an attendance based school, with an emphasis on participation, we will not make this exception. So we did what anyone would do, and withdrew her from school and enrolled her in an online academy, so we filled out the out of district boundary transfer paper work over 3 months ago, and have yet to hear back from the woman, who's name is vivian, so we called to find out what was happening and vivian decided that yelling at my wife was the appropriate response to our asking when we can expect the transfer papers to go through, her response was "I don't have time for every parent who feels like their kid is more important than everyone else's, then said do not call here again!" and hung up. well we are 2 weeks away from school starting, no transfer paperwork and no response from the person handling it, I have contacted superintendents office, the transfer office, and every other number connected to VPS, no one is willing to help, so our next call will be to a lawyer. Its unbelievable that a school district would be more worried about their attendance than the health and well being of a student, and frankly I am disgusted by the whole experience

Vancouver has the worst school districts in this area! Kids can’t read. Teachers do not care if kids know the subjects or can learn anything- if your kid comes home daily and says she is bored do they care no do they challenge your kid no and no amount of advocating for this will change this. You get told okay and then nothing is done. Thanks walnut grove

This is the school district that allowed teachers to give a five year old a concussion, I will not let my child go here.
