Highly recommend Road Runner over other carriers. Shipped a truck from TN to ND. Very easy process... enter a few pieces of info on the website and get a quote, then get scheduled. Pick up and drop off were prompt and on time. Driver was very professional, with a nice semi and trailer. Didn't have other brokers calling, texting and emailing, just worked strictly with RR. Will use them for future auto transports. Thanks much for a positive experience!!

Worst customer service imaginable. I talked to someone on the phone and booked a FL to MI car transport for late May 2025.

I got the agreement sent to my email for me to sign off on. I read through the contract and it absolved Roadrunner of all liability including negligence. Fine. The problem is that it puts 100% liability on either the customer or the carrier. Fine again.

I called to get the carrier information or insurance policy so I could verify we're all on the same page and I'd be covered if anything happened. This is nearly verbatim of how the call went when I called their line about this:

Me: Hi, I noticed in the agreement XYZ. Can you send over the carrier information so I can read it and sign off on your agreement?

Her: We can't send that until you sign our agreement

Me: Well then there would be a big unknown thing that I'm signing off on since I'd essentially have no clue what is covered.

Her: You should just cancel then if it's a problem.

Me: What? Are you being serious? You can't find a carrier before I sign off?

Her: Nope. So what do you want to do?

Me: Are you being for real with this attitude right now? Can I speak to a manager?

Her: ....

Me: Hello?

Her: I can't put you through to a manager right now.

Me: Okay. What is your name?

Her: Thank you have a nice day.

Phone hangs up.

Unreal how bad that customer service agent was. It was like she watched a video of me personally kicking her cat into a wood chipper before she answered my call. Is RoadRunner whipping their employees when they provide a good attitude? I'm confused as to what's going on over there.

I called back to get my reservation cancelled and I told the sales guy on the phone "Hey as a heads up, whomever that CS agent was that just spoke to me is losing you guys business. 100% she lost mine, I know she's lost business in the past and she's certainly going to lose business in the future."

His response: "Okay thank you have a nice day"

Oh, and the cherry on top - They say their HQed in New York. Go to the NY Business Lookup Gov site and they haven't had an active business license in many many years. They're new legal company name is: AM FREIGHT OPERATIONS INC.

Roadrunner was the cheapest option I found to transport a car about 2000 miles. The driver was a nice guy and the car arrived undamaged. My biggest problem was with the assigned carrier company... very poor communications from them. They told me it would arrive the day before it actually arrived. We waited around all day until 11pm and got a no-call no-show. The carrier did not answer the phone or respond to email. Then the guy came the next day. He was a good driver, but his company was not good at all. And RoadRunner customer service did not respond to my emails either. Their sales people are all over you during the quote phase, and as soon as you pay and book, they go dark. My car was not worth much, but I would not trust them with a very valuable car. On their website, RoadRunner claims 5-star average Google reviews with over 20k ratings. That appears to be false advertising.

I have had a terrible experience with Roadrunner Auto Transport. I used them to ship my car from FL to NJ and the vehicle arrived significantly damaged. It seems that the vehicle placed above mine on the truck crushed the top of my car. It's an accident, I understand things happen but the way a company responds and their customer service is important. In my case, it's been a bad experience.
It has been over two weeks since the incident and the communication has been awful. I just received a claim number and they still have not provided me with a phone number or contact for the other insurance company so that I can try to move the process along myself. Every time I call their claims department, no one picks up and I am forced to leave a voicemail. I've tried emailing them but responses are slow and I have to follow up multiple times to get any acknowledgement.
To make matters worse, they DO NOT COVER A RENTAL VEHICLE while my car is being repaired. I've been without transportation for over two weeks, which is very inconvenient. The lack of urgency is unacceptable.
I will update the review soon to let everyone know how things are progressing, but so far, my experience has been frustrating and disappointing. If you're considering using this company, I'd suggest you think twice.

Week 5 Update: This is now the start of week 5 with no progress from Roadrunner Auto Transport regarding the damage to my vehicle. My car is still sitting at the autobody shop, untouched, because the insurance company that Roadrunner works with has not provided the necessary authorization for repairs to begin.

I have had no vehicle this entire time, and the company continues to show a lack of urgency or accountability. Communication is still lacking and I’m still the one chasing updates and trying to move things forward. I’ve received no resolution, and their claims process has been incredibly frustrating.

I will continue to update this review as this progresses.

Week 12 Update:
It has been 12 weeks since my vehicle was damaged during transit, and Roadrunner Auto Transport has done nothing to assist me in resolving this situation. They have completely removed themselves from the process, leaving me to handle everything on my own with the carrier and their insurance company.

To clarify, Roadrunner is a third-party broker that connects customers with various carriers across the country. Since I paid them for their service, I expected they would provide some level of support or at least check in to see how things were progressing. However, they have not even emailed me to follow up, nor have they responded to a single email where they were copied on all correspondence. Their complete lack of communication and accountability has made an already difficult situation even worse.

Additionally, the insurance involved in this situation is “cargo” insurance, which is entirely different from standard vehicle insurance. Dealing with cargo insurance has been a slow process. It is very different than dealing with vehicle insurance.

I would strongly advise anyone considering using Roadrunner Auto Transport to think twice. This company has been unreliable, unresponsive, and unwilling to take responsibility for the services they advertise.

This company should not offer any services to the public as they are awful to work with it. Do not entrust this company to help you ship your car. Poor communication. Awful customer service. Lack of details. I booked shipping my car 1 month in advanced and called 3 times to check in because I never received a final confirmation with meeting place and time. The woman on the phone each time was rude and told me it was normal and that the carrier could wait till 2 hours before pick up to tell me they were coming AND my chosen date of pick up wasn’t guaranteed. She also told me these details THE DAY BEFORE I WAS SCHEDULED TO HAVE MY CAR SHIPPED. I was relocating for work and picked the specific day because of my move. I didnt have time to just sit around and wonder when my car was getting picked up with no details or information. What kind of service and company is this? It’s a scam. Please don’t stress yourself out. Go elsewhere, I promise you will thank me. I am a travel nurse and will make sure to spread the word to the travel community not to use this company. I’ve never been so livid or disappointed with a service.

A fantastic experience! I was able to have the car picked up and delivered the same day! My driver Ivan was amazingly patient and let me take my time as I collected the car. Would absolutely recommend to anyone, and will use again.
