Please be aware that Coastal Transport is a booking service and the quality of your experience depends on who they contract to handle your move. My experience was horrible. I made a reservation through Coastal Transport they guaranteed delivery in 2-3 weeks and quoted me a price. When the actual mover arrived (8 hours late) he had a contract for me to sign. That contract changed the delivery window to 30 business days and doubled the price. At that point I didn't have any other options. We were getting on a plane early the next morning and didn't have any alternatives.

Last night after 8 weeks of waiting, I finally received my items. The movers refused to unload or even show us our items until they got payment in full. I now know why. Our items were EXTREMELY damaged. Every box was smashed in or opened. An expensive gaming chair has a knife slice across the top. Multiple items are completely missing. I've tried multiple times to reach out to the company and they are unresponsive.

Beware! Make sure you know exactly the company that is moving your items and ask for the contract in advance. I deeply regret trusting my belongings to this company.

My husband and I hired costal moving company for our move from Arizona to Texas. We talked with Michael and he gave us a great deal since we hired them about 2 months before our move and our move was along their route. We knew they were a brokerage and he answered all our questions. Unfortunately for us, it came to be that there was not a lot of truth the answers given, misinformation, and over selling. The day of the move, without adding any additional pieces or items, our price went up $1000, as they were not able to “stack” some of our pieces, 405 to 700 cf. I asked Michael before we moved how to avoid any extra charges the day of the move and was guaranteed that if we did not add anything extra we would not be charged anything extra. We were also charged $300 fee for stairs and a “long carry.” On our binding moving estimate it claims that our first flight of stairs (10 stairs) was covered and anything more would be $75 extra. Our movers told us a flight of stairs is 7 steps. We were charged $150 when we have 14 steps, meaning they overcharged us and misspoke. The long carry is 100 steps, and from our apartment to where they parked their truck was not 100 steps.

Michael also told us that our stuff would not be here later than the 10th, and did not tell us that the period of our stuff arriving in Texas began at the first date we told them we wanted our stuff to arrive, which we said was the 8th. I called to find out when our items would arrive multiple times, and they said they would call back and let me know, and they did not.

The customer experience side was very frustrating. You will always be talking to someone different, being made to feel like you’re in the wrong, being talked back to, etc.

I do not recommend this company and would suggest going with a mover over a broker. You will be talking to many different people throughout the whole process, each with different claims. Nothing about it feels honoring to you and not much of what they claim upfront will be upheld. There is no reason we should have been charged an extra $1300 and we are now worried about when our stuff will arrive and getting charged fees at delivery.

I wish I could give negative infinity stars. This service has been horrible. They started by quoting $27k over the phone and have since asked for around $20k additional twice or they'll hold our items. There was one person handling our case but when the movers finished all of a sudden that person is out of the country and unavailable. Also the movers they contracted ignored us when we told them what items not to take and had to be told multiple times not to take my $4000 home built gaming computer. They packed all of my cousins clothes including the pile she specifically told them not to take. We ended up having to hide the stuff we didn't want them taking in a room and telling the movers to stay out because we kept the cats in there

One star seems generous..

I had a scheduled pickup and delivery for September 30, and now, as of October 2, my items are still sitting in Prosper, Texas—an hour away from my delivery address. I provided the delivery address more than three times, yet they claim they don’t have it! This situation is beyond infuriating. They told me customer service randomly opted me in for storage when I did not authorize this myself.

To make matters worse, they’re attempting to charge me more money, constantly coming up with new fees. Their disclaimer about previous court issues should have been a red flag. They’re adding miscellaneous mileage onto my route without any explanation.

I tried to escalate the issue and spoke with a sassy supervisor named Jake, who wouldn’t provide any contact information for someone higher up. Then there was know-it-all Ryan, who talked over me and refused to listen to my concerns. I’ve left multiple voicemails for a manager named Robert, but it seems he’s ignoring them.

In short, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are a scam, trying to rob you of your money and your belongings. I am currently pursuing legal action against them. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere!

This company has been an absolute nightmare. I am begging anyone who is thinking of using them to PLEASE do your research. Other reviews call this company "a scam". That's EXACTLY what to call it. They will tell you they accept Zelle payments but refuse to give you the information you need to use Zelle Bill Pay to bypass the daily limit. If you are unable to do this, they threaten to hold your belongings and charge even more for a moving fee. What this company ACTUALLY WANTS is you to pay a little at a time through Zelle, get a USPS money order or get a cashier's check. All of these payment options are extremely vague and are easy to make untraceable. I suspect their employees do not have social security numbers. The customer service was POOR with the service agent saying things like "Nah, it don't work that way" (super classy and professional, right?).
As stated PLEASE do your research and take these other posted reviews seriously. These people should be in jail.

These people are scam artists. They told me one price when I reserved them and then they assured me they would keep in contact but when the time came they never called. I called them and they told me they wanted 3000 more dollars to move us. I told them that was ridiculous and I wanted my money back but they refused saying it had been over 3 days. Please do not use them as being scammed sucks especially when you are limited on funds anyway.

ZERO stars!!! Wherever you are moving choose a different moving service!! Me and my brother moved states and thought we found a reliable moving service after speaking to a representative via phone call, where he assured that we would get our things in 3-5 business days.

We expected a little delay because of the long travel and wasn’t upset.

3-5 days then turned into 12-15 days. Again, we weren’t too upset. But after repeatedly calling, phone weren’t being answered and when they did pick up they were the ones upset.

12-15 days quickly turned into 15-17 days. Mind you we don’t have anything in our apartments; not our clothes, beds, blankets, etc.

Today is the 17th day and when I gave them a call to talk about their terms and agreements, Leah, who is a customer service representative couldn’t give me any answers even after requesting to speak to a higher up. Apparently there are none. Bullshit!!!! She was also very ignorant like I was the problem. They don’t reimburse or give a discount.

DO NOT support this service, trust.

EDIT: it’s now been a MONTH and some change! They called on the 9th and it will be here in 1-3 days after the 12th… haven’t gotten an update since. Still cycling through my 4 outfits, hopefully my stuff is here by this weekend. At this point I just want my things, not mad anymore.

This company is a scam. They give you a good price up front and collect their deposit. They sell your contract to another company and then the price at least doubles. Wouldn't recommend. Hope people read these reviews and put them out of business
