EDITED at the end to include follow up conversation with Sutton Customer Service Management.
This was the worst experience we have ever had. I woke up to the delivery address texting me last Wednesday saying Sutton transport said they stopped by (they never saw them) and said they wouldn't be able to fit into their dock area even though they receive multiple 53' trucks a week and would have to be rescheduled for today. I called the customer service line on these reviews to see if I could resolve the problem as I know being a business negative reviews can impact a business...
I called the customer service today.. After explaining how the dispatch said they stopped by and weren't able to deliver even though our contact never saw them, the customer service rep said the shipment showed delivered. I then explained our problem again.. About how it was supposed to be delivered last Wednesday and said they wouldn't fit and didn't even contact the drop off point even though they said they 'were there'. The customer lady service rep then asked what "my problem was as the pallets were now delivered." I explained to her that I had seen responses on these reviews by Sutton and was hopeful we could figure out what needed to be done so I didn't have to tell my suppliers to avoid Sutton transport.. She then again said the order was delivered and asked what my problem was.. I told her that I will go ahead and leave a negative review.. Her response "okay".. I really wish I had a recording of this phone call.. It was so bad that it is hard to believe.. It's to the point it was comically bad. ABSOLUTELY the worst customer service experience ever... Don't believe these responses by their team.. Once you reach customer service they just ignore your problems and try to get you off the phone. They just leave responses to make themselves look better and to cover up the serious issues this company has. This company seems to be total trash all the way through.. Their trucker/dispatch/customer service..
This company has 3.6 stars for a reason.. BEWARE!
Edited addition: It doesn't let you reply to their response which explains why there were no follow ups. The customer service manager was nice. They explained it was due to safety reasons and explained it was due to safety as their driver didn't feel safe making the delivery. They then requested I remove this review.
I feel this review is still valid as it doesn't excuse the first customer service rep I discussed with.. Additionally, I believe safety is very important, BUT they are the only transport company out of ~5 that has caused an issue with this delivery to this location which even has a loading DOCK! So, the review is more that this company is unable to provide the quality of service of other companies which I believe is a valid concern.
Here is a portion of my email to one of my suppliers today:
"You all have shipped to this location before; however used Sutton last time, and they made a big issue about delivering to the location. Please avoid using this transport company for my products again." <- I shouldn't have to do this for a well rated company... this is why I believe they deserve a 1 star rating.
