I bought my RS200 to pay homage to my father who was a die hard McIntosh fan. I have been collecting component audio systems from other audiophile brands for a few years now. All I wanted was a bit of help to update the firmware because the system wasn’t updating with the phone app. I sent two inquiries through their web portal, called the factory and received a “well I don’t have one in front of me and everyone else is in the warehouse”, sent an email as requested and it has now been two weeks since that email and still nothing.

Don’t get me wrong, the RS200 even with its quirks is an amazing sounding unit. The customer support is beyond disappointing however. It truly is a tough pill to swallow that the US based company my father and many of my friend’s fathers qualified as the pinnacle of home audio can’t seem to take ten minutes to help their customers.

After buying a product through a private seller, I have to say I am rather disappointed in the quality of McIntosh. The radio I own had wiring issues to the motherboard and some screws were lose. I had to go in with my own tools to fix this issue, which I shouldn't have to do anyhow. After fixing, the quality of the sound is not up to par. One half of the outer box broke due to how cheaply it's made and had to super glue it back together. I use to rely on Sony products until I came across McIntosh to try out, but I think I will be going back to Sony products after my experience with McIntosh.

I have owned McIntosh equipment since the 1980s And I’ve always Recommended it to Friends but no longer. I just spent $500 with one of the service agents to replace the glass In my amplifier. The glass is absolutely horrible and nothing like the original. The Light dispersion does not work very well And many of the functions are no longer illuminated. The color of the blue is different. The whole thing is a disaster. It was returned to the service center And they told me it was the glass and that McIntosh Was aware of the problem, but there was no remedy. The service center did their best to get it close, but it’s not like the original at all. I wrote to the company multiple times beginning two weeks ago and all I get is response saying my complaint has been forwarded to someone. No phone calls no emails. No nothing other than that message. It’s hard to believe because the last time I had a Problem they were all over it and made it right. This time chirping crickets and they continue to sell this defective glass. Very disappointing indeed after all these years of quality. Must be the new owners changing stream, like Nakamichi And all the rest that have died

If you're looking for the best branded amps, I would highly suggest going with Marshall, Fender, Fractal Audio Systems, Pulz, VIBE Audio and AudioControl brand and save yourself $5,000 on garbage McIntosh. - Sincerely a local music lover

EDIT: I am not sure who this "Brooklyn" you are speaking of is. Wrong person? But when I google your competitors "McIntosh Laboratory Competitors" those brands show up in plenty of articles. Don't lie and say its not and also accuse me of being someone else!! Disgusting behaviour!

I had the glass panel of the C52 replaced by Electri Co., Ltd., but there was a scratch on the panel. Moreover, the green LED became dim. I wonder why the inside of the Blue Eyes glass clouds up so easily...

Just like the rest of the users here say, McIntosh is hands-down the best audio gear ever manufactured. I must say that I base that opinion only on their classic equipment that I have owned (four different components from between 1957-1971). I have not had any reason to purchase any of the present day units they make because of the fact that I believe that they mastered the supreme craftmanship back in the day alone! In my opinion the MC-225 and MX-110z combo is the ultimate listening experience at an actual achievable price range. USA!!

I have had the privilege to enjoy McIntosh equipment for over 46 years, and can attest to it being the very best available!
Every piece of equipment that I have had the pleasure to enjoy has been the VERY BEST available, at any price.
The design is always ground breaking, and exceeds my expectations time after time!
Customer service has been nothing short of perfect from McIntosh Labs.
The only service that has ever had to be done to my Mac Equipment was to replace light bulbs in the front panels, after many years of use.
Now McIntosh Labs has replaced light bulbs with Light Emitting Diodes, the only service that ever needs to be done is cleaning these marvelous pieces of ART ! ! ! ! ! !
