Beautiful park. Stunning, actually, but absolutely no cell service inside camper and one bar outside camper. Satellite TV struggled to stay connected to one satellite. Left early because I work and travel and needed Internet connectivity.

I've seen nothing but incredible reviews about this park. But I was sorely disappointed. Most of the campsites were closed permanently, or under renovation. There was recent rain and flooding, so there was standing water everywhere. It was cloudy so we didn't get to see the sunset that I had hoped for. We did some kayaking across the lake and through the Cypress trees, which was kind of cool. But that's always better in the summer if you want to run into wildlife. The lady at the front desk was less than welcoming and barely spoke to us despite our attempts to start conversation.

My grandparents come here multiple time during the year to fish. They have been coming here for many years now. The lake is beautiful and the park is nice. But I wish they would clean up the walking paths. I was going to walk my kids down one that has the steps down to a bridge then back up the steps but it was overgrown. Needs cleaning up. Also wish they would fix up their Geocache box on that bridge. We were disappointed to find it not being maintained.

Spolier alert! I've seen the plans, this park is going under a major renovation in the very near future with updated camping spots, fish cleaning station, restrooms, playground and walking trail. Exciting times for this park ahead! As it is now, this park is nice as it sits right on the lake. Has a boat ramp with a bait shop next to it. Area (A) is probably the newest loop with sites more spread out. This loop is also next to the boat ramp and bait shop. There is a fishing dock located here also. Area (F) is right on the lake. These sites are closer together. There is a boat dock at this location that can house many boats. Free for campers to use. Shore fishing here would be hard at area (F) as the bank is grown up. Area (A) would be no problem to shore fish as the bank is clean and mowed. The older restrooms are shut down, newer ones are open. They were very clean and also had showers. And.... this park has a pool!

Nice place if you are in a RV. A bit pricey for tent camping. $54 a night is steep. It is a beautiful park. Great views and it looks like good fishing.

We have stayed at most of the cabins in Arkansas state parks, and this was our least favorite. The positives are the nature, the friendly staff, and the sunsets. The negatives are there wasn't much to do in the park when we were there- the one trail was closed and the playground was closed, not the right time of year for the pool, so can't comment on that. We had fun just doing our own things, but there wasn't much to the park. The cabins are just ok. Our smoke alarm went off every time we used the oven b/c the ventilation isn't good, the kitchen needs more supplies for cooking, the couch is old/run down and is uncomfortable to sit on and the pull-out bed was very uncomfortable and the mattress looked absolutely disgusting. The carpet is also absolutely disgusting- lots of big stains, sticky in some places. Our feet were black walking around in the cabin. Just really gross. This is not the fault of the staff. They were all very nice and friendly. It seems like this park has no money- half of the park is closed permanently (campgrounds, wash rooms, permanently closed and dilapidated), and some things needs to be replaced in the cabins- like the couch and carpet. We enjoyed our stay, because we had fun doing our own thing, we love nature, loved the sunsets. We won't be visiting this park again though. There are much better options.

We did a drive through this campground today, prospecting campgrounds for a future visit.

This is a nice park. The campground sites are level and spacious.

There are open fields with dozens of picnic tables situated under shaded trees.

There is a large playground set that I'm certainly the kids and those young at heart will enjoy.

There are pavillions that can be rented for large gatherings. There is a fish cleaning house. Shower houses.

Everything is clean and I would certainly recommend this campground.

Had a great trip to this state park March 2022. I had seen some negative reviews that worried me but we loved our stay. Talked to a park ranger that told us they had done a lot over the last three years to get this park back to a great place and I agree. Stayed at site F123 on the water. 30a with full hookups. Water is oddly placed at street on opposite side but a longer water hose will do the trick. Well kept Bathhouse across the street from site and a brand new one just down the lane. Two stores onsite. Boat pier just a few sites down you can fish from. Town with everything you need 15 min away. City 40 min away with casinos. Beautiful place to stay. Well maintained, several employees constantly working bathrooms, picking up limbs, trash, working stores, etc. Only one trail and it's Foot traffic only, no bikes unfortunately. FYI, Cell service at site was fine, ATT was better than our Verizon phones but they both worked good for voice and data. Further you got from the water the service got worse, once you got to the registration office Verizon was basically no service for a few miles towards town.
