A PSA to anyone with a 4k grader taking the bus in the PM:
I apologize if your child comes home talking about how the bus driver and a mom got into a argument at pick up; my fault for wanting my former micro preemie daughter to be fully sitting in her seat before the bus driver slams the gas. Be warned of the old man driving the bus. I don't know his name, but it's a old skinny man with a bad attitude.
Apparently when you alert Brandt Bussing (3x) to a driver who can't seem to wait a extra 10 seconds for a child to be fully seated before slamming on the gas which causes my daughters head and back to hit into the back of her seat, it causes the bus driver to feel all mighty enough to confront you yelling on a bus full of other people's children about how "i have a problem with him"
I told him I did not have a problem with him but with him not being able to wait a couple seconds for her to sit. I explained she's a micro preemie, she isn't wasting time, she is just small trying to get on her seat and he slams on the gas making her hit her head and back. I've seen it. My husband has seen it. Our friends have seen it. It's wrong!
I literally just want my daughter to be FULLY SITTING in her seat before he slams on the gas to go. He's late to pick her up which i don't care about, but you can't be late to pick up and quick as hell to go at the same time.
I just want other moms to be careful. Watch your kids. The bus should be a safe place from getting hurt, from hearing arguing, ect. This man straight spoke down to me like the end goal isn't for all the kids to be safe. Claiming I'm fully lying that you can't even see the kids from the outside of the bus, which I assure you, you can see if a bus is full of kids just from their shadow. You can see how they move. 😒 and Brandt Bussing seems incapable of changing drivers or doing anything beyond "talking to him"
If you have no patience with children don't work with them. I hate to even raise my voice around kids but it seems this old man has no issue doing it around other people's kids, even while being paid to act appropriate.

It's so hit or miss with them. They're anywhere from 5 minutes early to 10 minutes late picking up in the morning. Sometimes the driver won't wait an extra 15 seconds even though he sees my kid running for the bus, other times they drop him off at my front door because it's raining. Unfortunately it's not like we have a choice.

The bus driver grabbed my son by the hood and hauled him to the back of the bus (my child was not physically harmed). Multiple children from multiple families reported this to the Brandt. Steve (owner of Brandt) told me that the kids conspired together so that they wouldn't get in trouble for misbehaving. This is 6-9 year old's on a 25 minute school bus, not teenagers looking to sneak out of the house. He then stated that Jim said that the kids made it all up and that it never happened. When I questioned what would happen to the driver Jim, I was told that the driver is allowed to handle the children as they see fit, and if I don't want them touched then don't put them on the school bus.
MPSD must have missed that memo in the contract.

My friends child rides on brandt buses for k4. Her child was covered in bite marks and had cried so hard he had broken blood vessels in his face! When bus company was questioned they were rude ..offered no explanation on what happened or how this will be prevented in the future! No responsibility or accountablity! Nothing but smug and rude! Unacceptable!!
