Got into Mount Ida after dark and couldn't find a campground. I asked the lady night manager if I could park overnight in their parking lot. She said she was sorry that it was against policy. I was in a bit of a panic not knowing my way around and it was dark. Here comes the great quick thinking of this young lady, she directed me to a safe parking lot next to the rangers station. Next morning I want to Bob's food city and bought enough food and supplies to last four days plus some. Thanks to the night manager who thought fast on her feet and directed me to a safe place to sleep. The people in Mount Ida are great!

Small town local grocery store....
On the plus side
1) Very, very friendly & welcoming staff... a big plus.
2) The "5 for $25" meat packs were a good deal

On the down side:
1) Prices --- we've shopped at a number of small town grocery stores thru out Oklahoma and Arkansas.... the prices here were outrageously high, higher by far than we've seen anywhere else
2) The chicken did not look good at all - looked pretty old, not fresh at all, and we did Not trust it - even at the "5 for $25" price.

The rating is so low because of the outrageous prices.....
and would be even lower except for the friendliness of the staff.

The store was well stocked with food items and was very clean. Friendly and helpful employees. A bit high priced, though. If you need non-food items there is a Dollar General across the street, and a Family Dollar a half-block away.

This is an awesome store. I counted 5 display cases of nice knives! There several on display in other places. A great selection of souvenirs, including some very cool shirts. I got a very nice tulip for my mom. They had basically everything you need for your awesome Arkansas adventure. Just down the street from the comfortable Royal Oaks Inn.
