It was nice. Visited it in early December of 2021, so it was closed off for touring. However, many were there fishing. There was picnic, fishing, and swimming area available there. They also had a lookout point. But these were all closed at this time. The only thing open was the fishing spot around the spillway. It was all nice though. I'm happy I went.

The Beaver Dam Observation Area is easy to find, there’s lots of signage. Right now there’s construction going on and a big chain link fence blocks your view somewhat. The day we went there wasn’t any water flowing from the dam. You are pretty close to the bottom of the dam at this site. In order to get photos, I had to hold my phone over the tall fence and couldn’t see what I was shooting, so I was disappointed in them. But it was still impressive. There is a paved parking area, no spots specifically designated for handicapped parking at this time. The lot is wheelchair accessible.

If you are able to go view the dam site for Beaver Lake I would highly recommend it. The best time of year is definitely the summer. Go out to the overlook at sunrise or sunset for breathtaking views of the Ozarks. The trout fishing is phenomenal so it’s a place for anyone to find enjoyment.
