I’ve been shopping at this Ace Hardware for a while since it’s local and independently owned, but I’ve run into a recurring issue that’s frustrating. Several times, I’ve checked their website, seen an item listed as available, and driven over—only to find out it’s not in stock. The staff always says it’s because they’re not a corporate store, so their system doesn’t sync with Ace’s online inventory. It’s disappointing to waste time like that.
That said, I think the owner could fix this pretty easily. They should make sure they’re using a system like Epicor Eagle (Ace’s standard software) and keep their inventory updated in real time—scanning items in and out properly. They need to work with Ace corporate to confirm their store is set up as independent in the ERP, so the website only shows what they actually have. Linking their specific stock to the online “check availability” tool and filtering out items they don’t carry would solve a lot of confusion. It’s not hard—just needs some coordination with Ace’s IT or support team.
The staff here are friendly, and I want to keep supporting a local business, but this inventory mix-up keeps happening. Hoping they sort it out soon—would bump this to 5 stars if they do!

Not only did the gentleman literally help me find the three things I was looking for, he gave my 3 little girls ice cream popsicles free of charge. This helped ME out soooo much. I'd just picked my girls up from school but needed parts to fix a leaking toilet. Getting 3 girls under six years old out of the van anywhere is an expedition... Thank you so so so much. Small towns are the place to live.

My husband went in there today for his chainsaw to find a replacement bolt and none of the men in their would help except for this nice lady working around 10:30 am helping him find the perfect bolt and would not give up. That’s an employee who knows how to do their job. Please tell her I said thank you and she deserves a raise.

Good customer service and building supplies. Good local hardware that has a great selection. They don’t carry sprinkler heads.

Never Friendly when entering. Didn't have the threaded rod we went there for.
Only do business here in have to situation.
Go to Huntsville. Lowes will appreciate your business.

Just left this location. This was my 1st visit here and most likely my last. I asked if they gave a veteran discount and was told they did. I showed the employee my state issued AL driver's license which shows my Veteran status. The employee said "They normally show their military I.D.". I explain this was a state issued I.D. that had my veteran status verified by the state. She said nothing and wouldn't issue the discount. Another employee spoke up and said "Thank you for your service to our country instead of staying home and playing video games". Well, I appreciate the support but don't appreciate not accepting my government issued ID with my veteran status clearly marked on it. I will be returning to Lowe's/Home Depot who clearly accept state issued veteran status ID. The 2 mentioned competitors actually verify Veteran status' and store them in their system for future purchases.

I tried to support my smaller/local business but had a bad experience and will likely not return. I also tried to educate the employee the whole reason for this logo by the state of AL was for ID/discount purposes. She didn't seem to believe me or care.
