When I first came to the Monterey area I contacted Pacific Grove Property Management, due to seeing a house that I liked very much nad was offered by them. I was totally naive about how to go about renting a home. I had been a home owner for 30 plus years and this was the first company I contacted when looking for a place to rent. PGPM really was great to work with. The gentleman that assisted me in learning about renting a home and helped me to apply, took very good care of me. He explained what ever was unclear, he was polite, knowledgeable, and very patient with me, a person that didn't know anything about renting a house. I was the one who didn't know to even ask about who makes the decision as to what appicant gets the house for rent.
How it occured: I applied to one property and thought I had it. Then at the last minute I recieved a text stating that another person had applied and the owner of the property choice this new person. I felt that because I applied first I would be the one who would rent the house. It so happened that the property went to the second appicant. I was frustrated and disapointed, of course.
Finally, I learned how the rentals were handled but it was after I was asked to evaluate PGPM.
What I learned was, the owner of the property that is for rent, is the one who choses the applicate they feel is best to live in the house. I had a dog and the other person didn't and this property was a horse ranch. I had already evaluated PGPM prior to learning how these transactions were handled.
I am so pleased to have found this posting so I could explain the the reason I only selected one star. I want to change my score to 5 stars. *****

We are moving to the peninsula this summer and most every other group we’ve talked to has put us off or been less than friendly as we’ve been told we were inquiring about the area and rentals “too early”. Chris Navarro has been incredibly patient and kind while exuding professionalism at all times. My family is going through a couple of situations where it's made it very difficult to connect, make a decision, and or get moved and Chris has been there every step of the way smiling right through the phone, even though I'm sure it's been difficult. He's had to put more work into our situation than others yet he's never made us feel as though it was a problem, in fact he's made it seem as though it's just another day in the real estate business.
