Enjoyed my trip. Captain John was very informative and also great at navigating the boat so that I could get the shots I wanted. Saw many different species of birds, northern sea otters and a few humpbacks. Great way to spend the morning.

Coldwater Alaska operates a top-notch water taxi service from the Homer Spit with many types of services. We signed up for a taxi across the Kachemak Bay (20 mins.) to explore the Grewingk Glacier via the Glacier Lake Trail on our own for a few hours and then meet up for the taxi ride back to Homer, taking the Saddle Trail to the meeting area. Kelsey was our captain, and she taught us a lot about the flora and fauna of the area. We saw the beautiful murres and otters on the way. Signs of bears were evident on the Saddle Trail but we did not see any. We would definitely use Coldwater Alaska again and highly recommend them for their knowledge and expertise of the area.

Our family went on the wildlife tour with Coldwater Alaska. We got to go on the tour with Captain John & Justin on the North Cape… it was AMAZING! Both John and Justin have the best attitudes/energy and created such a fun atmosphere for our family! We literally got what felt like a 10 minute private show from two beautiful humpback whales of them breaching, slapping their pectoral fins, flukes, and the energy was off the charts. Our little one swore they were waving to her. Both of our children had so much fun that it made the entire experience so special. Along with the humpbacks we got to see a minke whale, puffins, otters, and so many unique birds! Captain John and Justin were both very knowledgeable about the wildlife, surrounding area, and the environment- you can tell that they take their job seriously and love what they are doing. We have been on several other wild life tours throughout Alaska and none of them have been as great as our time with John and Justin on the North Cape! Not to mention they have the coolest boat we have ever been on. We 100% recommend Coldwater AK and be sure to ask for Captain John/Justin because they make the tour so magical and unforgettable! Thanks again gents, and can’t wait until next time!

Captain Zack and Sally provided a great taxi service to the Glacier Lake Trail and were very helpful in helping us map out our hike for the day.

Booked a last minute day of charter. We had time to burn in Homer and the weather was perfect. Walking into the office and greeted with so much kindness. We decided to go with the wildlife tour and had the boat to ourselves. (We had 3 people in our group) captain John was so great to take us to find Orcas. We came across a pod of over 30 all around us. Most were far away but that was ok. He did a great job of teaching us about the orcas and we even saw one breach.
I highly recommend this company! Their boats are so nice and well maintained and I loved that it was smaller group sizes. All their staff were so kind and helpful too.
Definitely will be using them again in the future.
