Not the best example of how Ace’s are usually run. The lady whom I’m assuming was the manager approached us about a price match with Home Depot that we inquired about. She came to tell us that Ace won’t match the sale price from HD. But she was curt, offered no concession or assistance, and walked away. So did we. She missed out on $200 sale for a $9 price difference and she did so rudely.

We immediately left for HD and won’t be returning to this particular ACE.

Ace Hardware is a solid store with a ton of options for just about anything you need for home improvement, gardening, and more. My mom absolutely loves shopping here, and I can see why—it’s well-organized and packed with everything you’d expect from a hardware store.

That said, the employees could dial it back a little on the chatting. While I appreciate a friendly atmosphere, it felt like they were more focused on socializing with each other than helping customers. It made the shopping experience a bit frustrating when I needed assistance but didn’t want to interrupt their conversations.

Overall, it’s a great place for variety and quality products, but a little more customer focus from the staff would make it even better.

I have been to numerous Ace Hardware locations in multiple states and have found the employees to be knowledgeable and caring. I cannot say the same about the Madison Ace Hardware. I ordered a Stihl attachment, drive 1.5 hours one way to retrieve it because this was the only store stocking it. The employees had pulled the wrong part number. They were unable to find the part I ordered although the computer indicated 2 in inventory. Moreover, the lady in charge seemed annoyed and inconvenienced. She offered to refund me like it was a gift. Good customer service would involve showing some empathy. Also trying to make it right some due like offering to order one to ship to my home, for example.

It was my first time going to ace and I am so pleased. Every single person greeted me with a smile and my family had the pleasure of Robert copying our keys for us. He let my two children not only watch, but assist in scanning the bar codes while teaching them the process, such a kind man. Thank you for the great experience Mr Robert!

You want a vehicle key or remote programmed, see David Sockwell at Ace Hardware on Hughes Road.

I had just bought a 2008 Lexus RX but it only had one key.

David programmed a new key, without wasting any time. He is quiet, professional and gets right to it. Highly recommend him and his work.

I have never had a bad experience at this store.

Stopped in for an odd bolt & nut combination and Angelo proved his skills by going straight to the correct bin (amongst hundreds) and quickly found what I needed. That's how you do it! You hired the right guy!!

Go to ACE before Lowes or Home Depot...you're welcome! Most of the things I needed were cheaper than the other stores I mentioned. I'll always check Ace first.
