Fred Robinson Airport Park, Lanett (Shawmut) Ala. As part of my Lanett Highschool program, I worked and learned to fly there, 1954. Fred Robinson, settled and created the entire area shortly after WWII. He has been essentially forgotten, since his decease. He established the original dirt road with his personal bulldozer, the airfield, genuinely, the entire inhabited area. I was there in 1952, flying models. In 1954 Fred taught me to fly a genuine airplane, Piper J3. Gordon E. Browning, PhD.

You can walk the track, sit and have lunch, put your boat in the water and fish, or enjoy the fresh air. Valley High School had their Alumni picnic here- it was awesome. My Secret place of tranquility in the mornings for my walks!!!!

Should be called Airfield, not Airport. It's a grass field. No hangars. No food. No bathrooms. Next to the river and a few hills.
Very pretty.
