DO NOT come to this company if you represent a MINORITY. There are Red flags & don’t ignore them. As Minorities, unfortunately we have to look & be aware of red flags. Use your Discernment. We firmly believe & know that our experience would’ve been very different, if we represented the majority.
Consider this review a Heads up. Hopefully it will prevent a negative & uncalled for experience for the next person(s). The Subtle comments, indifferent attitudes, & racial undertones ARE present. If you are a seasoned driver(s) w/exp, vast knowledge of this industry and carrier(s) & their operations, GO ELSEWHERE.
We had hesitation due to the outwardly appearance & marketing. It indicated there may be different treatment for different individuals. It’s a small company, in a small town, in a very southern state. However, we tried to remain positive, it’s 2024. They want to protray a “family” environment. Take a look, you’ll see, even when speaking w/employees.
There’s only ONE Recuriter, D (leaving out full name). More raised eyebrows came viewing the different Driver video testimonials. Mind you, only 1 Minority is present, out of ALL the videos & persons featured on their site. Had a 30+ min convo w/D. Sent apps & forthcoming regarding employers. We have NEVER been terminated. So, Imagine our surprise upon following up w/D. We were now being told there were red flags on their end & now have concern….LOL. D said it’s because we didn’t get the DS. Usually companies schedule it & go at your convenience(within reason). Initially we didn’t know DS was for a specific date. We didn’t even look at the form until we needed to email it to the clinic’s email. We already knew where to go. We were told to have D reschedule it, since date passed. 48hrs hadn’t even passed.
We were talking with other employers, as we SHOULD. We KNOW we have options because of our records & experience.
The Recuriter(D)said: If I’m being honest, I dont not want to reschedule right now, & he’s still waiting on 2 VOEs. Fun fact- the recuriter went to the owner on his own accord. Owner approved scheduling DS early, BEFORE VOEs came back. Hmmmmm interesting ? Since we didn’t go to DS that day, NOW you don’t want to reschedule DS. Instead you want to WAIT on the SAME VOEs? He said, “he felt he was burned, by going out on a limb & getting the drug screens scheduled early.” Side note: we sent D a text when we didn’t go & said why. Told him about one of the other opportunities, since our 1st convo discussed other carriers, pay rates, miles, lanes, etc. He tried to explain how the company differed & was better. There is a catch to the difference. He dug a deeper hole & stated, “it didn’t look good, because we asked if the drug screen was Hair, urine, or both.” Asking is a problem? He already ran our MVRs & FMCSAs. After he received the results, D sent the DS form to our emails. There’s an alternative test for faith/religious conflicts, a saliva test. Not all carriers offer it…..SO YOU NEED TO ASK. Otherwise agree to hair DS or go elsewhere.
It was offensive & disrespectful to even indicate that we were being deceitful or trying to buy time to affect the results of the drug screens. We know that, if our names were Sandy or Jim Bob, it would NOT have been implied, nor mentioned.
We have decided not to continue with the company. Intuition is a God-given gift! Always honor it. Above all else, just like you ARE to do with GOD, listen to it!
