Definitely worth it to visit and ride the ferry, which is the only FREE ferry in WI, and is considered part of the highway system. The ride across is short, about 7 minutes. There is a bar/restaurant and ice cream shop on each side. I think the ice cream shop is only open seasonally. We visited at dusk, so a little less interesting visually than daytime views, but being able to get across the river quickly was nice and convenient.

A cool attraction that we stumbled upon while in the Dells. The ferry is a nice ride across the water in your car and it was cool to us because we didn’t realize it was there. It’s also free so some enjoyment at no cost. If you have a cool car it makes for some cool photos, and is the gateway to scenic rural Wisconsin.

A unique way to travel to Devil’s Lake/Baraboo from Madison if you have the time! There is no cost to loading the ferry, and it’s a very short trip! They are extremely efficient in their operation and it shows. The ride is sturdy and steadfast. If you’re quick enough, you can exit the vehicle for some fresh lake air and a few photos!

If you love to enjoy scenic beauty you should consider this way to go to Devil's lake having a ferry ride. This is wonderful, fun, and adventure!

We are Ice Age Trail hikers. This terminal is also the north trailhead for the Gibraltar Rock segment as-well-as the south end of the Merrimac connecting route. Ample parking and an ice cream concession.

Amazing that this is a free service! Cuts off a good chunk of travel time and was very convenient to use. Cute little setting to wait and grab an ice cream.

Had to wait a bit for the ferry. Went on a busy fall weekend, still with the wait! Walk around and grab an ice cream if there is a wait.
