I had a unit rented here and I chose this place first from the price that they were offering for units and yes, they offered the best price to start your storage, 2) I wasn't very happy about the fact that 2 months after moving my stuff into this facility I had my first rate increase, I had another rate increase 6 months later and then another 6 months after that!! I was just curious whether or not that the price increases were due to inflation and the short answer is NO, 3) I had went online 2 months ago and they had units available for the same start rate as before which was $47.00 for a 10' X 10' unit and when I contacted them about possibly getting a better rate I was told that the rates were based on supply and demand, if that was true then why weren't they able to offer a consistent price In my opinion it's a little like a bait and switch process with them in that they pull you in by offering a great price, but they're going to go up on the unit until they're charging you more than some of the other places. A lot of people may not consider it a big deal, but when you're living on a fixed income there's a BIG difference between paying $47.00 per month and $122.00 per month!! They have posted in several areas that they have the facility sprayed monthly, but I can tell you that my stuff when I went to get it out of this facility on Saturday had become infested with spiders and I did notice that they had poison in little packets all over the storage unit, but spiders don't typically get killed by that type of product.
I realize that several other people have posted 5 star reviews and if that's what they feel the place deserves then great, but I personally don't agree. I'll be the first one to admit that I can be very picky when I'm giving a place a review so that's why I feel that they're not deserving of 5 stars. I've had items in storage at Central Storage facilities in the past and I just prefer their approach to the process. 1) I had my stuff in storage there for 3 years and they might have increased the price one time, but prior to doing it they called me personally to let me know about the price increase whereas I did get my increase information from my email AFTER I realized the price had went up. I'm just NOT one of those people who are constantly going through my email and checking every one that I receive because I get a bunch of junk emails!! So I guess you could say that was my failure instead of theirs. Also, if I didn't have so much heavy furniture I would have moved everything out of Midgard Storage long before I did!!!
