Little museum- Big on strange history! I adored this place- We decided to start off our new year with meaningful monsters! The Flatwoods Monster has been one of my lifelong favorite cryptids so it was akin to a dream come true to finally visit this museum and town. Many might point out how small it is, and while it is a museum, it gave me the presentation quality and atmosphere of an older rural library and that added much to its charm. It kind of felt like a time capsule in a way. It's got several sealed cabinets that double as exhibits for documents and photographs as well as shelves lined with various Flatwoods Monster merch. There's even a sitting area complete with couch and chairs with a documentary playing. The museum wasn't crowded when we went at all (we were the only ones in at the time despite this place getting much foot traffic) so that made it more special. The folks that run the place are pleasant and genuine! I had a nice talk with them getting some extra insight and details regarding the monster sightings- as they have ties to the original family. There is also a cool giftshop and you can see a few of the things I got from there [The purple sided postcard at top was not for sale there but was picked up in point Pleasant. The pin, postcard, patch, brochure and poster are available to pick up at the Museum giftshop and came home with me!] Please stop and support this place- whether you love this cryptid like me or if it's your first time hearing about it. It was such neat, with a touch of personable, experience for me. I'd love to revisit someday.

Stopped by when visiting for the Flatwoods Monster Convention. The museum may seem small at first, but once you go inside you can see every inch is covered in interesting history. It also has a couple of chairs and a table to rest or chat at. The merch has a large variety, from guitar picks with the original sketch the boys drew to a cute plush and a lot of well designed clothing options. I highly suggest visiting!

Small but free museum. Took less than 20 minutes to go through the one room. Lots of miniature replicas of the Monster. They have their own chair that you can sit in for photos just around the corner of the building. There is another chair further away. Town is quaint. Bigfoot museum is a block away. Free parking. Saw an old pay phone that mysteriously started to ring when we walked away.

A very interesting roadside stop. We were visiting the Bigfoot museum and found this. The museum is combined with the visitor center. It is one room that was possibly an old ice cream shop? Filled with many pictures and hand made statues. There was no one inside, it would have been nice to talk to someone to find out more. If you're in the area check it out!

If you are interested in crypitids, monsters or the paranormal, you need to stop in Flatwoods WV. In 1952 a monster/alien visited the small town of Flatwoods WV and has become a legend there. The Flatwoods Monster Museum is a testament to the creature. Interesting facts and history await you within the museum. The staff is extremely helpful and will answer any and all questions. The gift shop within is always a nice place to pick up some swag or trinkets to remember your visit. I highly recommend you check it out.

This museum is so cute! We parked a little ways down the street and enjoyed the walk up to it, looking over the historic buildings. The museum itself has so much to look over. It's small but worth the trip. They have lots of interesting pieces on the Flatwoods Monster, and cool items for purchase. The people running it were also incredibly kind and friendly.
