We had a great experience working with Mr. Robert McInerney to have our Eco Water salt-free water softener and whole house filter installed in just two days. The change in water quality and taste is huge. We had been planning about it for 3 years, but the complexity of technological and environmental concerns made it difficult to decide and materialize. This comprehensive package covering the equipment, installation, financing, warranty, and post-purchase customer service reduced the uncertainty for us. After having several solicitors knock on our door to conduct water tests, we decided to take a closer look at our options for whole-house water purification. We vetted three different companies before deciding to explore the option Costco advertises with EcoWater. While it wasn’t the cheapest option, it was comparable to others, and we ultimately chose EcoWater because of Costco’s reputation for quality products and excellent customer satisfaction—and because of Mike Lamborn.

Mike was an exceptional sales representative who stood out from the rest. His knowledge about water issues and the EcoWater system was impressive, and he took the time to educate us on everything we needed to know. Clean, pure water became a high priority for us after seeing the results of the water test, especially with a new baby in our home. Mike understood our concerns and helped us feel confident that this system was the right choice for our family.

I am very disappointed with my purchase and experience this location. From people wrecking my personal property while installing and me sending videos of them damaging my goods which never got truly resolved. To interestingly enough “miscommunication” about a 5 year free products. I do think they are overpriced, out to make money and don’t care about much else. I do expect an interesting reply to my review. But it’s not going to change my perception on my experience.

installed eco water system for $7595 through Costco. After 1 year, the quality goes bad. We can not drink the water any more. We call for service. There is a charge around $300. Before we had the system installed, the sale person told us that the water will be taken care forever. It was a lie. We have to pay for maintenance. It is very expensive. We feel like we were cheated. The water quality now is very bad. We cannot drink it. The sale person told us we get free shampoo, soap, laundry soap forever. But later on we find out. They are free only four time. Even so, the product has no use. We still buy drinking water, soap….at Costco.

Buyers Beware! Please believe every bad rating on here about Eco Water. They are horrible in every way. My install was the worst per the senior tech who came out to fix the first tech’s mistakes. The office has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They will hound you to service the system, but will rarely call you back when you have a concern. A tech came out last week to service my system. Three days later a pipe cracked and I had water everywhere. Took me half the day to clean it all up. When the tech came out to diganois the problem, he said it was a coincednnece Seriously! They did not comp me or anything. The tech had an attiutde as if it was my fault. They are SO extrmely rude. They don’t even deserve one star. Trust me, please do business with anyone else BUT Eco Water. You’re welcome!

2/25/2025 -To the owner who just responded three hours ago that he has no record of doing business with me. Unbelievable!!! See the attached invoice of service that was done at my house last year. You have been at my house every year since the unit was installed in 2005. Such horrible integrity! Just ridiculous!!!!

To Whom it May Concern,

Prior to agreeing to purchase services from "Home Depot", and the third party " Eco Water of Central California" my wife and I were told in person we would have 3 days to try the water softener system and reverse osmosis (my wife has a medical condition known as “severe eczema”, and needs to try things out to make sure they will not adversely affect her skin. I further texted the seller "Robirt Lajeen" on Saturday January 18th, asking for verification “is there a return policy if my wife hates it" to which he replied” There's a 3 day right to cancel”. This led us to believe we had 3 days to try out water. If he had instead said “We have no refund policy, you have 3 days to cancel from the date of signing paper work, which is 1/18/2025”, I would never have agreed to purchase this system. My wife always needs to try things out to make sure they will not adversely affect her. I believe this is classic “Bait and Switch”, which is illegal in California.

Nothing was properly installed in my home. The installer from “Eco Water of Central California (they have denied to provide me with the installer name, and or to see the installer paperwork when asked multiple times over the phone). The water softener System was placed without my knowledge or consent in my wives flower garden (this resulted in destruction of person property). In addition to this, the dirt is on a slant and is not even or stable. Installer did put down some sort of slab under the two devices, but due to the dirt not being level; the structure is unstable and could fall on my six year old step son. The installer informed me, that he did not have all the required parts for the install and the whole house water softener system would not work and should not be turned on. I pointed out where he installed the equipment was very problematic and he told me “It is the only place it can be installed”. I have learned since then, this was a lie. When I asked why a “brand new” piece of equipment did not have all the parts needed for install, I was not given an answer. I was informed “you can ask for a technical to come out and finish it”. The whole house softener has never worked or functioned. Nor does my family have any benefit from this so called “installation".

The second piece of equipment was a reverse osmosis for safe drinking water, to which he put it under my kitchen sink. I found it was leaking water very shortly after it was "installed", and has been shut off. I believe if the leak were to continue the water would spill out from under my sink and go on my Kitchen tile, and my home could be damaged further.
As of 1/28/2025. I have been asking for cancelation since 1/25/2025 (through voice mail and speaking to the company. I have been ignored and lied to by the owner of the company, one "Ken Steitz", and have been denied the company to come and remove their broken, faulty, and leaking equipment.

Thankfully, since I bought this through home depot, I was able to get my refund. However, the worker who came to get there broken equipment out of my home left me with 2 leaks, and a plumber had to be called to fix this. I briefly spoke with the owner “ Ken Steitz”, who did not believe a word I said, and laughed at me over the phone. He clearly does not care at all about his business.

Ecowater lied to me to get my business. This was NOT a professional initialization. This is an unethical company, and who ever read this should seriously consider if you want to be business with these people.
