Some Rude people there in the office. BCUD wants to charge for everything. I've been with them 8 years and needed someone to come out twice all references my meter box. $$$ each time. Now it's up to 65.00 to make sure a meter is reading properly. No leaks inside, but water bill doubles and their meter numbers doesn't aline with my reading from the same meter? To bad we don't have choices to change.

I have been using Bedford County Utilities for 30 years. My ex husband and I built houses and not once EVER did I have any issues with a threat to cut my water off.
Fast forward a few years, I sell my house and now I have a new address and new last name..
.I used to have my bill drafted outta my account for like10 11 years, no problem.

Since the move they didn't just transfer my info to my new account so my water has been turned off once with a call that it might happen again I ask the lady to see if she could just transfer my account over.
She came back on the line and said that it would be OK. Thank goodness..
So I pay my past and my current ..

Today I received a text at 3:54 ( they close at 4:30) that tomorrow my water would be shut off for non pymt..
Wait, what

I used to reside in Bedford County 20 years ago. Born and raised there. Always thought the utility district was a good company. I don't know who they got to subcontract the new water pipe conversion but they have torn up several property/lawns and not fixed back properly including my mother's. It's a shame they get away with unsatisfactory work. I'm sure their properties were fixed properly if theirs was in the line of fire.

I have had service with this company for a few months. They are inconsiderate on when they are servicing water lines. What I mean is that there are emails to warn customers when the water will be off due to some service work being performed. Now my house is without water and I'm at an inconvenience situation. I'm having to miss going to work. All because of lack of communication. It's 2020 people get with the program.

I have a pool and had to have a special set up they made me put in which is fine (no problem) I don't see how water can back into there system 300 feet up hill but I followed protocol. Wife was washing vehicle in back yard and put the hose up on pool deck for the day. The meter reader guy hawk eyed and came into yard to confirm that there was a hose on our deck. We then received a kind of nasty phone call "this will be your last warning of filling up your pool without there system or they would shut off our water." We had there system in the nosey meter reader guy thought we was filling up the pool from the hose which we was not.We dealt with it and let it be but now we was having a problem with our meter froze up and the concrete lid was broke on it before I even moved into this house which made the meter froze.Funny hawk eye meter man could spot a hose 300 feet away but couldn't see the broken meter lid that he was checking. UPDATE It keeps getting worse with this company they have now charged me for a meter that was fully functional that they said stopped working in December and now it is April saying that I broke it? WHAT are you kidding me why in the world would I break a meter that provides me service? I am honestly thinking of spending the money to run a well since they are the only company providing service to my area. We keep receiving letters saying the water failed inspection so I spent several hundred more dollars installing filters because the letter read that exposure over long periods of time has been known to cause cancer. I am at wits end with this place but I keep on using them for the simple fact its installed an is working but the constant problems is starting to out weigh the simplicity.

Me and my wife bought a house we have never been late on our bill. We have already received our deposit back from duck River Electric. But over a month later all of our utility bills are paid in full and we still have not received our deposit from Bedford County Utilities This is Ridiculous.

I have been without water 47 times in 12 days due to road construction and one of the big guys of the company told me to just deal with it. Instead of putting a valve in the hydrant that would make the road construction company pump slowly so us regular paying customers could still use our water during the day while they pump, the water company says just deal with it.

This is the crappiest utility district I have ever had service with. Please tell me where it makes sense that I have to pay my deposit all over again just to transfer my service 100 yards down the road and then on top of that you are going to keep my previous deposit for 6 to 8 weeks I'm sorry but I believe that they should be like every other utility company where when you are transferring services that they just transfer it. I have not had a problem with any of my other utilities just this company.
