I'd like to start out by saying as a military family, we have had the pleasure of having moved previously. This company is BY FAR the worst experience we have had. There was a serious lack of care for our belongings. To start, there was absolutely zero detail with regards to inventory with no distinction made for higher value items. Instead, items were carelessly strewn together and grouped by "nightstand items" or "master bedroom" etc. To add insult to injury, often times the labels did not match the contents of a box. Almost every large furniture item was improperly packaged and damage was evident on just about everything, but the biggest issue was the loss of 2 irreplaceable items: my West Point class ring and the watch my wife got for me as a graduation gift. I know for an absolute fact they were in my nightstand, and EVERY item (to include empty boxes) from the nightstand was delivered except for those 2 items.

I am currently working through the claims process and WILL be posting an update to this review once complete.

I'll be brief but this is the worst moving company I have ever had, and I've moved a lot in the twelve years I've been in the military! Here's a breakdown of the type of service I received.

PRICE
-Charged $25,448.16 to move 16,000 lbs of household goods from Tacoma, WA to St Louis, MO. That is outrageous! Let that sink in before you give up your information for a "free quote"

PACKING
-One packer used the bathroom in my house and...I kid you not...pooped on the floor. My 5 year old found it and asked why someone left chocolate on the floor. Just absolutely disgusting and unprofessional
-Packers forgot to pack multiple cabinets and had to come back to pack the day of the move
-Packers did not put itemized stickers on any furniture or any of the items in the office. This created havoc at the destination as we couldn't get the right inventory count or have numbers in order to file a claim.

MOVING
-Movers did not listen to me about the entryway to the neighborhood and their truck became stuck. This caused damage to the road and delayed the move.
-Movers did not listen to me about the volume/weight of our household goods. My estimate was very accurate as we had just moved 3 years prior and had not bought any significant purchases since then. I told them we needed a full truck but they brought one that was half filled. The remainder had to be shipped by freight
-Mover for the freight truck tried to manipulate me into signing documents prior to him doing his job. When I protested he became unprofessional and threw the papers at me.
-The driver announced to the crew how much tip I was giving everyone ($10/hr/person in addition to buying them lunch and dinner on both loading days). That's strange and unprofessional. It almost felt like he was trying to wrangle more money from me if the crew wasn't satisfied with it.

DELIVERY
-At the destination, we found that more items were broken than we have ever had in all of our prior moves. Books were placed upon vases without padding. Appliances were dented due to dropped boxes and no padding. Furniture was covered in scratches because it was moved without protection. The claim is so extensive that I've been putting it off because of how many items I'll have to list.

POSITIVE NOTES
-Kira (Head Coordinator) is absolutely amazing. She empathized with us and was very responsive to our issues. She remained professional and helpful the entire time. Too bad she has to work for such a bad company. She has a bright future ahead of her in whatever field she chooses to work in!

I had done a local move with the firm a year ago which went well, so I opted to use them for interstate move beginning in September. The pack and load crew were a clown show. It took them over eight hours to pack and load what the local crew had taken less than three hours to move more items a year earlier. They brought only few tools and had to borrow mine. I had to help on chap unscrew the bolts on a bed frame.
At destination as I unpacked, I found that suits / coats had just been thrown into wardrobes, rather than hung. Hats and delicate items had been tossed into the bottom of boxes and crushed beneath heavy items. Trash, such as wads of packing tape, had been thrown into the boxes.
At destination, unpack services which we had specifically added were simply not provided by unload team who were unprepared to unpack late on a Friday afternoon.
In summary, we paid for a top shelf Mayflower move and in the end we would've been just a well off with a couple of independent guys wuth a truck.

Unacceptable. I had advised the company that previous moving companies needed two days for packing and unpacking each, and that furniture was sensitive and expensive. A&E movers rushed the packing in one day. They dumped the contents of all the drawers in each room into wardrobe sized boxes and then left it in a big pile at the destination. Shelving was ripped apart with force and cannot be reassembled. Expensive furniture was transported without any protection and damaged. Boxes were poorly labeled and ended up in the wrong place. After delivery, the new home was left looking like it had been ransacked by looters. The physical damage to property is not the worst part, the worst part is the months it will take to get my life together again.

DO NOT use this company for moving or storage of HHG. We have moved countless times with the military and this is the first time I have ever had an issues and felt so disrespected by a moving company. They lied to us about having a truck break down. They finally got us our delivery the next evening at 5:30pm (Friday on a holiday weekend). The crew told us the company overbooked and that is the reason they couldn’t deliver on the originally scheduled day. After them being a day and a half late with the delivery and then to find out they straight up lied to us I was livid. They lost/misplaced key parts of our shipment, thousands of dollars in replacement costs. Since it was such a late deliver no one was in the office for the long holiday weekend. When I did talk to the office staff 4 days later they didn’t care that they lost my belongings and told I HAD to talk to the military liaison who was out. They don’t care about the client, clients time or their belongings. I demanded a supervisor and was denied multiple times. I called their partner company (the ones that drive the trucks) and was eventually told by someone that they would try to look in the warehouse for my belongings but they were just too busy. I have not had any further communications with the company. They do not responds to our Military coordinator until multiple emails have been a sent. Worst movers ever. Military, If you want to keep your HHG request a different company.

Disclaimer: this review had a clear 5 star review from us in July 2021, when they moved us from the Seattle area to a southern city. The experience was great. But when I booked them to move my daughter back north, the experience was less than average at best. They didn't show up on the scheduled day (a scheduling faux pas), broke some dishes, and left the premises with several items still in the truck. Disappointment. Rating reduced from a five star experience to a three (average between 5 and 1). I hope we don't have to move again, but if we do, A & E Relocation Services will not be there. Sorry guys. Family is everything to me.

A & E Relocation Services did a great job for us. I would recommend them to anyone who is considering relocation. As a family that relocated a dozen times, I can testify that this was the best moving experience we have ever had.

Starting with their agent who came to my home and put together an estimate. He was precise, took good measurements of what we had, and submitted an honest and comprehensive estimate. Since we asked for a complete door-to-door, meaning taking apart everything, fully packing the entire house, loading it, and unloading it, then putting together everything that needed installation, it was a complicated job. But the estimate was fair.

Just to put things in perspective, I asked another company for the exact same thing, and they indeed came in lower. But when I asked for a few boxes to pack delicate stuff, they said it was extra, another person for packing was extra, and the bottom line came in a lot more expensive than A&E.

When the day arrived, A&E showed up on time, and by the end of the day the entire house (three stories, fully packed) was packed into boxes and taken apart.

the next day, another team showed up with two trucks, and by the end of the day, everything was on the two trucks heading to our destination.

On the third and final day, the same team arrived with the two trucks, and by the end of the day we had the skeleton of a house: all beds installed in place, all appliances in place and working, boxes sorted by name found themselves in the correct destination.

Every single person on the two teams was nice, personable, courteous, and careful with our stuff. A week after that they came again to collect the boxes and papers.

And guess what, we came in under estimate, and were charged much less than anticipated. That in itself was a new experience for me. I was never charged under estimate.

Kudos to A&E Relocation Services, personally to Jim, Junior, and the Hawaiian Team. It was a pleasure working with you!

Almost uniformly awful military moving proces with this origin servicer.

Failed to show without notice on initial packing day then told me at 0930 on second (now only) packing day that they were also loading my stuff away the same day despite scheduled load out being 3 days later.

Following this expedited load out, my HHG have been sitting in a warehouse for over a month. They have repeatedly told me and my TSP they will have my possessions ready for hauling on a specific date which passes without that happening.

The gentlemen who packed my household goods were very friendly but they can’t save a company that has deprived me of my possessions for weeks and weeks without any honest indication of when they will be able to be on their way to my new residence.
