I am an experienced aquarium owner (freshwater). I bought a 20 gal kit, set it up, added substrate and live plants, added Tetra tank starter, and let the tank cycle for a week. I went back to this Petco and purchased 8 fish. I also bought 4 from a competitor. My water chemistry is stable. One week later, I am writing this review because I still have 4 fish from the competitor. But I only have 4 of the 8 fish I bought from this store. At this point, I have to leave the tank alone for a good while to see what else dies before I can even think of adding any others. And when I do, it will be from your competitor as they were nice enough to let me know they have a 14 day guarantee on their fish. Your fish person was somewhat inconvenienced by my presence and, if you do offer a guarantee, I was never informed. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN YOU!

My Petco experiences at this location have always been exceptional. I have decided to review this Petco location at this time because of one employee/manager that went out of her way to help me with my aquatic venture with an African Dwarf Frog with fish in a 5.5 gallon aquarium. Kasey is such a jewel to this Petco location. She was able to help me with all of my aquatic questions and concerns. She was right about everything that I had concerns about and gave me the best suggestions for acquiring new items for my aquatic friends. She made my Petco experience memorable. In fact, she is the reason why I have visited this location several times this week. 🙂 The other employees at this location were nice as well. This location is one of the best in Madison for all of your pet care needs. The first photo shows her explaining to me how to feed the frog frozen bloodworms. This was so helpful! 5 stars!

First visit, there was a $14.00 price difference on an item in the store and the same item online. The cashier did price match. Thankfully. Second visit, I returned a box of cat treats, because the treats are too large and my cat's would immediately vomit them up. Again the cashier was helpful and gave me a refund. I did have my receipt.

Walked in not even 5 minutes ago asked to see the ferrets because I was going to buy one. The lady told me they were asleep and when they woke up I asked another lady to see them she said only if I was buying one, so with the employees behavior I wasn't interested at all anymore nice work patco. Btw they didn't have any water.

Thank you, April, and all the staff at the Madison Petco. April helped my son and myself set up our tank and even show me how to check prices through the app. Saved me a lot of money in one day. You are always so helpful. I hope management knows how good of a team they have here.

We felt we were being judged/scolded for buying a specific brand of food, but got a price match from online to get an item half off.
Placed an online order containing dog food and purchased one other item. When picking up the online order, the cashier asked if someone recommended the food, saying it was low quality, and recommended other brands. She said the first ingredient was a filler; it was corn. By this time, a line had formed, and we didn't want to hold anyone up, so we decided to keep the food and see how our dog liked it, and decide later for our next bag. We left then returned our cart, and she tried again to get us to buy another brand after we already left with the original brand. The manager that packed the order did not say anything about the food when we spoke with her about the price match and an out of stock item from the order, which leads me to believe this is the opinion of the cashier only. Also, from my research, it seems to be poorly informed as well. 1 star for the judgement, but +1 for the price match.
