Awaiting a parcel, checked tracking and it said that Royal Mail attempted to deliver, property was inaccessible, I live in a house with very clear access to front or the back doors, and I was home all day, as I had a repair man in as well. Now I need to collect said item and I have no card to show when I turn up to try and collect. It’s a joke, and the fact that attempted deliveries are being falsified, really

What an absolute joke!
Unable to collect parcels ready for collection after a missed delivery because its only open for 2 hours a day!

So instead you need to hope and pray they then deliver the next day but 9 out if 10 time your waiting 2 days for a redelivery!

I would have given no stars but couldn't comment without one. I have a ring doorbell, it wrang so I clicked on it straight away, by which the man was away, if he had waited long enough ( 10 seconds) he would have been instructed to leave it at the door and I'll get it as soon as I can, my recliner takes a few seconds to recline, this was to save him waiting, it was raining but my front door has a recess so he was sheltered.... I tried talking to him through it as he disappeared around the side of the house, there's no way he wouldn't have heard me, he comes back to put a card through my door so I again spoke to him through it, I thought he had left it with a neighbour, they have just moved in and I wasn't sure of there shifts, that's beside the point. Anyway he had put it in the green bin, I confess to being irritated so I told him I wanted it at the front door in the hope that just maybe he will wait a bit longer next time a lesson to him perhaps. On returning to the front door to put a card through he was very abrupt and totally ignored me walking off down the drive.... grow up boy ? civility costs nothing, he needed a bucket full
Oh and I tried calling as well but got no reply does that mean there are a lot of complaints?

We use the sorting office nearly every day to drop off parcels that we are sending (and very occasionally to pick up parcels). The staff do take a bit of getting used to. They are not very customer focused but when you get to know them they can really be helpful. They do get a lot of abuse from customers though, so I can understand why they might find it difficult to be cheerful all the time.
Note:if you need receipts for your dropped off stuff they only provide had written ones which can take ages if you have a few. When I use the post office (only sometimes) the staff simply scan the label and print off the receipt in seconds. Why can't the sorting office get a scanner?
I find items posted from the sorting office arrive quicker that the ones posted else where and they have more collections that go on later in the day.

Note:You can't buy postage here. You must already have a label paid for (or stamps, but they really don't like stamps on a parcel - neither the sorting office nor the post office like it when they have to add up stamps to make sure you have paid the right price!)

Lastly, if you use click and drop too send items you don't need a label you can show the email confirmation and they can print a label for you and stick it on the parcel. This can be handy. You can also ask for second label to be used to stick on the receipt and then get it stamped to save a little time.

Went into this Royal Mail in Livingston to post about 10 pre paid parcels. Put them in a Royal Mail sack that I got from my work literally just to carry the parcels from the car into the building. I was met with the worst customer service I have ever received. The woman working with black hair and glasses refused to take my parcels because they were in a sack, said she would take the two parcels that wasn’t in it but not the rest and when I asked why because I was genuinely confused she was so so cheeky and argumentative to me and I actually asked are you telling me you’re just choosing not to do your job right now and she proudly said yep! I took my parcels to another Royal Mail who took them all no problem without question! If you don’t want to be insulted and have a random woman shout at you, I would avoid this place!! I work in customer service and this woman should not be in a customer facing role
