One of the most beautiful structures in the county, I just wish it were cleaner. Now that it isn't really used for many public functions maybe it will be.

This is probably one of the best spots to take pictures around here. Love the architecture and structure of the building. The steps and greenery around make it such a nice place for a walk. Recently it looks like they gave it a little love, but the steps wnd rails used to be green and moldy. Now they look a bit more decent. Although I believe they moved the court to the other side of town, we shouldn't let this building turn into just another abandoned one. Instead we should make it more enjoyable, maybe more flowers garden even a fountain or adding things to attract people ... after all it is the heart of the small town of Shelbyville ❤

At the center of the "Shelbyville Plan" Town Square, this 1935 Courthouse hasn't changed much in 80 years. The architecture and atmosphere will take you back to a simpler time. As it hasn't kept up with growth and a changing culture, it lacks the size and security of newer courthouses. Walk in and enjoy the ambiance while you can. The courts and several offices will be leaving in the latter part of 2019. Maybe it will become an events center or museum. But with no firm plans in place, I recommend you tour this facility as soon as possible and see history while it's still being made.

Stephanie Mitchell has always been so helpful to me! Hang on to her. She’s a true example as to how everyone should be to the public! She’s a true gem.

If you have to be here at least the staff is friendly and helpful. It's fast paced so pay attention to signs of where you should go for what you need.

Efficient and helpful for a problem I had. In the present atmosphere with so much rudeness, I appreciated this.
