My experience with Taurus Logistics was terrible and costly. I imported my car from New Zealand to Australia, and while the initial quote seemed reasonable, Taurus later raised the price after my car was already on the ship, knowing I had no option to back out. They delayed sending the invoice until the car was in transit, so they could change the charges.

Communication was almost nonexistent; I had to take time off work just to try and get updates. When my car finally arrived, the rear tail light was fully cracked. After multiple follow-ups, they never responded, and when I finally reached customer service, I was told, “Please don’t have high hopes.” Such unprofessionalism was shocking.

Additionally, they recommended a compliance center that quoted me $4,000, with a list of unnecessary items. I ended up handling compliance myself for less than $2,000. Taurus also billed me almost $500 for ‘cleaning,’ but the car was filthy, with mud all over and mats removed. I ended up paying more because of their lack of professionalism, hidden fees, and failure to provide promised services. I would advise anyone to avoid Taurus Logistics and find a company that values customer care and accountability.”

"Thank you for your response, but I’d like to clarify my experience:

-While I requested a faster sailing, my primary issue was with the final billing. Additional charges were applied after my car was already on the ship, which left me with no option but to accept them. Transparent and finalized invoicing upfront would have made a big difference.
-On communication, while some emails were sent, updates on critical details like the compliance process and timing were minimal. I had to proactively reach out several times and even take time off work because of this lack of clarity.
-For on-road compliance, your team recommended a center that quoted $4,000 with numerous unnecessary add-ons. I completed compliance independently for under $2,000. A warning about costs and a choice of providers would have been helpful.
-The initial quote included a $150 fee for transport from the Sydney port to my address or your depot. Once I handled compliance myself, I was informed this fee was no longer valid, which felt misleading. The quoted delivery cost should have been honored.
-Finally, the rear tail light was cracked upon delivery, and despite multiple follow-ups, this issue remains unresolved. I still receive updates saying there’s no progress. This lack of responsibility and follow-through has been disappointing.
-Additionally, I was billed nearly $500 for a ‘cleaning’ that was clearly not done. The car was actually dirtier upon arrival than when I delivered it, with mud everywhere and mats removed. It’s disappointing to be charged for a service that was never provided.
I stand by my review and hope this feedback encourages improvements. I also ask that you resolve the tail light damage, as it’s a direct result of this service."

Karen and Troy listened to my specific requirements shipping a vintage motorcycle from UK to Australia. They were patient with the many commercial and logistics questions I had beyond the website FAQs - not having used an International Shipping Importer before. This helped put myself and the motorcycle seller at ease. Upon collection, it was reassuring to accept delivery of such a well-constructed and well-protected crate. I will be recommending Taurus Logistics to my friends, and intend to do business again. Thanks! regards, Sam.

Never again.
My car was collected in NZ on March 10 and was delivered to me on August 6. Almost 5 months and their original indication was 5 -6 weeks. The basic problem was they provided no meaningful advice on how to manage or expedite the shipping, their business approach is to sign you up and then charge every possible fee along the way, including some egregious fx rates which they had to reverse.
When I tried to work out what was happening they alternatively told me it was my fault as I hadn't read their emails carefully enough or that the delivery end was a "fiasco" they had no way to know about.
Even when the car was finally available and I was trying to pick up directly from the port, they had arranged a further delayed transport and when I asked if they could change that, the response was "you call them". Never again, learn from my experience and find someone who really wants to advise as well as just charge.

I had Taurus import my Vespa from Auckland to Sydney. The job was done successfully with no damage to my scooter. There was a bit of a hiccup with the final delivery but the owner resolved it in the end. Thanks all.

Taurus recently imported a small sailing boat from France to Australia for me. I selected Taurus for three reasons: firstly, they quoted a reasonable price; secondly, their quote was fully detailed, and thirdly, the pre-purchase communications with Richard were very good. In fact, this was the only logistics company in Australia that was really willing to help me to understand the different options fully and gave me honest and actionable advice. The transport was not entirely straightforward as the boat first had to be transported by truck from France to the Netherlands, then put into storage there until the cargo ship would depart but Taurus organised this flawlessly. Taurus’ claim that there are no hidden costs turned out to be true - I paid exactly what was quoted (after currency fluctuations). My only quibble is that post-purchase communications were not quite as impressive. I was rather nervous about the pick-up dates in France (as it was difficult to coordinate the shipyard that prepared the boat for export with the trucking company) and also about its arrival date here (as I had to leave Australia for an overseas trip). Getting timely information about the pickup date only worked after I contacted the hauling company directly (rather than Taurus as the broker) and I learned about delays in the shipping schedule and the final arrival in Melbourne much faster from tracking the AIS signal of the cargo ship than through communications from Taurus. That aside, everything worked out well and I believe Taurus was a good choice.

Never again would I use this Company
My car was dropped off to them in Wellington on the 12th December, 2022. They advised me that it would take between 4 to 6 weeks for my vehicle to arrive. 6 months later I collected my vehicle today 15th June, 2023. They tried to charge me an extra $700 for storage which I had removed of the invoice after I refused to pay this, due to there poor management of my vehicle, caused it to stay parked in there storage facility outdoors for a great part of this time. My vehicle had never been left outside and has always been garaged. Then today they charged me an extra $960 to have my vehicle cleaned!! and moved from the Port to the cleaning facility, when I collected my vehicle it did not even look clean and there were marks on the paint work and scratches on my vehicle. Leading up to collecting my vehicle they asked me to pay the invoice in full as the vehicle was going to be ready to collect. My next communication with them they advised me that my car had been off loaded in Japan as the port in Melbourne was too busy for the ship to stop to drop my vehicle off. Their communication throughout the whole process was poor and their attitude was "it is out of our control". They refused to take responsibility and just kept blaming the Melbourne Port.
I would never use this Company and would not recommend them please be aware as the costs ended up being double from my original quote.

I recently imported a boat from Finland, something that I'd never previously contemplated let alone done. Not knowing anything about international freight forwarding, I searched the websites of many Australia companies and one in the U.K. before settling on Taurus Logistics as the best option. They're a local company (Australia/NZ) with a good vibe to their website which allayed some of my concerns. Richard and his staff were good communicators throughout the entire process and proved to be across all aspects of their brief, a testament to their experience as international freight forwarders/managers. They did, indeed, 'take care of everything'. I would recommend Taurus to others interested in importing boats to Australia without reservation.

Troy and the team at Taurus did exactly what they said they would do.... get my car delivered safely to my door in Invercargill. Only minor hiccup was the vehicle inspectors in Invercargill required original documents whereas customs were happy with copies. Would highly recommend the team at Taurus.
